FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
So I have to
attend Kickboxing classes first? That's
right. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible in
your training. The kicks and punches taught in the six
week Kickboxing Membership will begin to lay the foundations
required for your Martial Arts career.
Is grading
compulsory? Not at all. However it is recommended.
Students feel an unprecedented sense of euphoria when they
pass their sashes.
What's
the additional fee for? This is
a combined KB Membership and Licence fee (for insurance
purposes).
This is renewed on an
annual basis through
KB Kung Fu
(the renewal fee is 45 inc. VAT).
What
shall I wear? Wear
something comfy, track suit bottoms and T'shirt.
Training is bare foot (or with special KB Shoes), though you are welcome to
wear trainers if you are injured. You
are encouraged to purchase the club uniform in time -
though it is not obligatory until you progress to
the next level of your training.
I'd
like to train twice a week, can I?
This is possible. Our unlimited scheme means that you
pay for two classes per week, but you have access to many
more; you can do as many classes as humanly possible in
Kickboxing, Kung Fu and Yoga Classes. This price is
unrivalled in Central London.
Will
I get hurt? Accidents
can happen with martial arts training. Though due
to extra care being taken, not one of our students has
been seriously injured. No contact is permitted until all
protective gear is worn - and even then it is light.
What
equipment do I need to buy? Nothing in the
Beginner Membership period. After the initial Kickboxing Beginner Membership,
shin pads, KB shoes, gloves, forearm guards and kick boots
need to be purchased to
be able to do partner work properly.

here for more equipment info.
Check out the
KB SHOP too.
I'm
really unfit, overweight and uncoordinated. Will I
be able to do this? The classes
are there to help you get fit, and lose weight if
desired. Coordination will improve with practice.
The instructors are very encouraging and understanding.
So you would never be pushed to extreme limits, nor made
to feel uncomfortable.
